PETER Ivers has scored two medals at the Australian Masters' National Athletics Championships.
The Kirribilli athlete came first in the men's 400m hurdles and second in the 110m hurdles sprint.
He walked away with gold and silver medals and a chance to represent Australia at an international level.
"Being a finalist in these events has qualified me to compete at the World Masters Track and Field Championships in Finland next year," he said.
"This will be a good opportunity to test myself against previous times and achieve my personal best."
The Australian Masters' National Athletics Championships take place every two years during the Easter holidays at ANZ Stadium.
Although Mr Ivers stopped running professionally in 1995 he trained hard for this event and regularly participates in the Balmoral Burn.
Last year he won one of the events for his age group at the Awaba St run.
